The relevance of the Sabbath

For someone who has never observed the Sabbath, the ‘rest’ of the Seventh can seem overwhelmingly restricting. Besides for all agricultural labor that is outright prohibited, there are also restrictions that affect many other aspects in day-to-day life. For instance, one is not permitted to cook, write, dye, ignite a fire, carry any objects outside of their home, travel, prepare anything for Sunday, and tens more. Scared to Death

Most people I know don’t like to think about dying. Death is taboo, especially when talking to ninety-five year-old’s. When people are depressed, when they have nothing to look forward to, they think about death, and usually it makes them feel even worse. Today, I asked myself, what is so scary or sad about dying?

Sunshine Blogger Award

Hi there!

I took some off time, because I needed [and still need] a break. Taking an occasional break is crucial for me, it gives me time to recharge which in-turn keeps blogging exciting. When taking off I expect less traffic so won’t check my stats and notifications daily [read: hourly] as I usually do. I try to get myself interested in something other than blogging, like reading and looking for other things to do.

Followers?

There seems to be an unspoken objective in the world of social media, and that is to gain as many “followers” or “friends” as possible. To the blogger, or any artist for that matter,  a new ‘follow’ is not only a validation of his skills, it is a legitimization of the feelings that he is attempting to convey. Moreover, it is the sense of approval that motivates the poet to sing, the writer to write, the musician to play and in our case the blogger to blog.
